【Main Ingredients】 Albendazole 

【Properties】 This product is a light white granule. 

【Pharmacological Action】 Albendazole is a benzimidazole anthelmintic. It has a broad-spectrum anthelmintic effect, covering nematodes, tapeworms and trematodes, but is ineffective against schistosomes. The mechanism of action of albendazole mainly involves binding to the microtubule protein of sensitive parasites, preventing it from polymerizing with α-microtubule protein to form microtubules, thereby affecting the cell division, protein assembly and energy metabolism of the parasite. Albendazole is well absorbed after oral administration and is rapidly metabolized in the body into sulfoxide (the main active metabolite for anthelmintic action) and sulfone. The peak plasma concentration of the metabolites albendazole sulfoxide and albendazole sulfone is reached 20 hours after administration. The half-life of the sulfoxide metabolite in cattle, sheep, pigs and chickens is 20.5, 7.7-9.0, 5.9 and 4.3 hours respectively, and that of the sulfone metabolite is 11.6, 11.8, 9.2 and 12.5 hours respectively. 

【Indications and Uses】 Anthelmintic. It is used for the treatment of nematodiasis, cestodiasis and trematodiasis in livestock and poultry. 

【Dosage and Administration】 Based on this product. Oral administration: single dose, 50-100mg per 1kg body weight for horses; 100-150mg for cattle and sheep; 50-100mg for pigs; 250-500mg for dogs; 100-200mg for poultry. 

【Adverse Reactions】 (1) When dogs are given albendazole at a dose of 50mg/kg twice a day, they may gradually develop anorexia. (2) Contraindicated during lactation. (3) Albendazole used in the early pregnancy of sheep, rabbits and other animals may cause teratogenic and embryotoxic effects. 

【Precautions】 Use with caution during the first 45 days after pregnancy. 

【Withdrawal Period】 14 days for cattle, 4 days for sheep, 7 days for pigs, 4 days for poultry; milk discard period 60 hours.
